On Thursday 25th September 2014 the Crooks family became the new owners of one of the most unique hotels in Belper, The Lion Hotel, adding to The Boars Head and Littleover Lodge, with this hotel in a prime location. The hotel holds many fond memories for the people of Belper and has been in business since the 18th century – making us one of the top hotels in Derbyshire!
Over the coming months, we focused on bringing the Lion Hotel back to its former glory, transforming the much-loved hotel. Through hard work, commitment and a love for the hotel, our dream became a reality. We initially worked through a sympathetic refresh of the hotel and grounds which was then followed by further refurbishments of the main hotel.
Today, The Lion is renowned for being one of the most popular hotels in Belper due to its charm, character and onsite facilities which include a family-friendly restaurant and pub, including leading pizza restaurants in Derby! With two exquisite suites available to hire, the hotel is also home to one of the most popular wedding venues in Derbyshire.
